Everyone's favorite topic - Registration and Taxes! But seriously, we know it's not the most glamorous topic, but it is important and we are here to help make it easy :)
(Please Note - this is simply a guide. We recommend everyone speak to a certified tax professional, which we are not. Additionally, requirements may change after the writing of this article, and we recommend reaching out directly to the communities, townships, counties and states directly)
Registration - there are a few different entities you will need to register with. Please see below for the 4 different jurisdictions in which you may need to register:

VRBO booking - We collect this (6%) from the guest and remit it to the state quarterly on your behalf.
Direct booking - (same as VRBO) We collect this (6%) from the guest and remit it to the state quarterly on your behalf.
Section 2 | County Registration
There is a 3% hotel tax in both Carbon and Monroe county that is paid by the guests and needs to be remitted to the county. In order to pay this to the county, we need our clients (homeowners) to register their home and give us their Tax Excise number. See how to complete this below!

Section 3 | Township Registration
Please note - this has been changing somewhat frequently as many counties have been establishing and amending their STR Ordinances. Some information here may be outdated and we recommend contacting your local authority
Townships will typically require an annual fee as well as an annual inspection to have your short-term rental permit (see a sample inspection checklist
here
). Homeowners are required to register with their townships and PRM will not be hands-on in the registration formation process. However, we can help in being present for inspections if needed.

(please note, this ordinance was recently passed in Q4 2022 and is being actively contested. There are stricter requirements here, including occupancy limited to 2 guests per bedroom and commercial insurance being required. Please read the ordinance carefully)
Registration Process - we collect the information from the guests and submit to the office. We then pick up the community passes from the office and bring to the home for the guests. This is paid with cash out by us in person and deducted from the

Registration Process - we collect the information from the guests and submit to the office through their online portal. The HOA drops off car tags at the home which have to be displayed by guests.

We do require that homeowners create an account for us to register under. We will upload our company credit card to pay for registrations and deduct from end of month proceeds.
